About
Carol Griffin Enamels was based at the Ruskin Glass Centre, Stourbridge, where Carol made and sold her contemporary enamel art work, and ran enamel courses. She is now working from her Garden Studio in Stourbridge.
Carol graduated in 1980 studying 3D Design (Jewellery & Silversmithing) at Birmingham, and is an experienced teacher, having taught D&T and Art for over 30 years. For the past 15 years she has been fascinated with the process of enamelling - fusing glass powder on to metal.
"I love everything to do with vitreous enamel and often develop my work through enamel processes - high & low firing; sgraffito; stencils & masks; riso screens; wet process liquid enamels etc. I work mainly on copper, often forming the metal first before applying powdered &/or liquid enamel, often in many layers, to create unique one off pieces of art, in the form of jewellery, bowls and wall panels. My love of enamelling has led me to visit commercial & industrial enamellers, become a member of the Guild of Enamellers (as Chairman, Bursary Sec, Regional Sec) and the British Society of Enamellers (Selection Comm), attend/lead many workshops and enamel exhibitions, as well as taking part in exhibitions in the UK, Netherlands & Spain."
Thank you for viewing my website, which I hope you enjoy, but if you do have any questions, please contact me through the contact page.
